Job Summary

The Academic Program Coordinator will provide support to graduate students in the BMEBT program, including advising, enrollment, and reenrollment. This role will also assist with administrative and programmatic tasks for the BMEBT Graduate Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Admissions and Matriculation
    • Provide support to newly admitted BMEBT students, including advising on semester course enrollments.
    • Assist doctoral students in connecting with their assigned advisor.
    • Prepare RA/TA offer letters and track them.
    • Collaborate with the Graduate Admissions and Registrar's Office as needed.
  • Enrollment and Retention
    • Assist in the re-enrollment and retention of students matriculated into the BMEBT program.
    • Monitor graduate student retention and provide regular reports on enrollment trends.
    • Track and report progress towards retention and enrollment targets.
    • Aid in identifying areas of concern and assist with developing plans to address enrollment concerns.
  • Advising
    • Serve as the administrative advisor for masters-level students.
    • Facilitate the distribution and completion of required forms and processes.
    • Complete student and degree audits.
    • Assist with degree clearance and monitoring student academic records.
  • Other Administrative Responsibilities
    • Schedule regular meetings of the BMEBT Graduate Coordinators.
    • Participate in student recruitment, orientation, training, and special events.
    • Provide Web page content updates to IT.
Requirements
  • Master's degree plus 1-3 years of experience in academic administration.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to use a CRM to improve advising and student services.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work with little direct supervision.
  • Promotes the University's commitment to customer service.
  • SIS/Peoplesoft, Salesforce skills highly desirable.
  • Degree in or familiarity with engineering/biomedical engineering/biomedical technology a plus.
