Job Overview

The Montana FFA Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to serve as its Director/Executive Director. This key leadership position is responsible for overseeing the overall management of the organization, including its assets, programs, personnel, and contractual relationships.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the Foundation's programs plan, ensuring alignment with its mission and goals.
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to achieve the organization's objectives, including program management, fundraising, and communications.
  • Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, staff management, and consistent quality of finance and administration.
  • Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support existing program operations and statewide expansion.
  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications, including web presence and external relations, to create a stronger brand.
  • Establish partnerships in new markets, establishing relationships with funders, political and community leaders, and maintain flexibility to change the organization structure as requirements or opportunities arise.
  • Develop and implement fiscal policies, develop annual budgets, and implement the Board-approved organizational budget and project budgets.
  • Provide monthly updates to the Board regarding program activities, fundraising progress, and other priority areas of organizational life.
  • Actively seek Board advice in major facets of organizational development, engage Board members in fundraising, and alert Board members to important organizational meetings.
  • Develop and manage the Foundation's Human Resource Policy Manual, lead the development of an appropriate staff structure, and provide leadership, coaching, and counseling to all staff and contracted individuals.
Requirements
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities, attending training as directed.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Skilled in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of marketing strategies, processes, and available resources.
  • Ability to identify and secure alternative funding/revenue sources, including grant requests.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations, develop and maintain record-keeping systems and procedures, and establish and control large, multifaceted operating budgets and cost control processes.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current and emerging development needs within the business community.
  • Ability to travel as required by the position, work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
