Job Summary:

Kinder Morgan is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Professional to join our Procurement and Administration department in the Strategic Sourcing group. This role will be responsible for leading multi-functional stakeholder teams on strategic sourcing initiatives or projects, overseeing the end-to-end sourcing process, and developing and executing negotiating strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multi-functional stakeholder teams on strategic sourcing initiatives or projects.
  • Oversee end-to-end sourcing process: strategy, market analysis, negotiation process, supplier selection, contract lifecycle management.
  • Analyze spend data and industry dynamics from multiple sources to support sourcing initiatives and category management.
  • Develop and execute negotiating strategies using cost models, contract knowledge, risk awareness, and market intelligence to establish acceptable negotiation boundaries.
  • Monitor, interpret, and leverage market intelligence data to formulate sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Gain consensus on acceptable risk levels and contract language with all stakeholders, including Legal, Risk, EHS, and Business Unit leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Supply Chain Management, or other related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a purchasing/procurement environment required in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and capable of building strong relationships with internal customers and vendors.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Contract Management, and ERP systems.
