Job Summary:
The Software Application Engineer role is a pivotal position that focuses on Application Development, Support, and Platform Engineering. This individual will conduct evaluations on application performance and functionality, addressing troubleshooting needs and implementing enhancements for existing software solutions. The role also encompasses the creation of new software applications tailored to meet organizational requirements.

This professional will serve as an internal technical consultant for application projects, collaborating with vendors and stakeholders to interpret and translate requirements into effective solution designs and implementation strategies.

Additionally, the engineer will work closely with the Platform Engineering team to optimize server, web, and database components within application infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessing applications for optimal implementation practices, including functionality and integration.
  • Designing and developing software solutions to fulfill business and operational requirements.
  • Gathering application and reporting specifications for solution design.
  • Troubleshooting performance challenges and resolving server-related application issues.
  • Documenting solutions utilizing application development methodologies, diagrams, and models.
  • Conducting application/software code reviews for improvements and optimizations.
  • Evaluating security measures in applications and associated infrastructure for compliance.
  • Designing, developing, and managing both front-end and back-end application components, including user interfaces and database connections.
  • Analyzing application datasets to create reports and reporting templates.
  • Providing technical expertise and feedback on application projects.
  • Maintaining server components within application stacks.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Proficient in development languages such as .Net, C++, Python, Java, XML, JSON, and GO.
  • Foundational knowledge of front-end design technologies including PHP, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and GO.
  • Strong web development capabilities with platforms like Microsoft IIS, Visual Studio, Apache, NGINX, Node.js, and Django.
  • Solid understanding of SQL databases including MS SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience in designing and supporting reports using SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Familiarity with ETL and ELT processes using SQL Server Integration Services.

Operating Systems Management:
  • Windows 10 and 11
  • Windows Server 2016 and above
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar distributions.
  • Administering system modifications within operating systems.
  • Implementing security measures at the Network, Application, Server, and Database levels.
  • Proficient in scripting technologies for process automation or service optimization.
  • Familiarity with VB Script, Powershell, BASH, Python, or similar scripting languages.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including teamwork, priority management, and effective communication.
  • Knowledge of server infrastructure virtualization is advantageous.
  • Experience with application deployments in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Mainframe systems and languages such as COBOL, CICS, JCL, and VSAM is beneficial.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 applications is preferred.

Highly Preferred Qualifications:
