Position Overview

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, a prominent global law firm with a presence in key commercial, legal, and governmental centers across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is looking for a Software Applications Engineer to join our team. This role reports directly to the Application Services Manager and is crucial for the integration, deployment, and ongoing support of the firm's commercial software solutions and related systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive end-user support and troubleshoot intricate issues across all hardware and software related to applications and their supporting tools, including integrations with Active Directory / ADFS, SQL Server, and the Firm Data Warehouse.
  • Assist in project planning and scheduling to ensure timely delivery of initiatives.
  • Define application scope and objectives through thorough research and analysis to enhance the document management system.
  • Utilize software engineering and analytical expertise to aid in the design, development, and execution of specifications.
  • Identify and resolve configuration, installation, and compatibility challenges within applications.
  • Possess a deep understanding of security measures, including multi-factor authentication, anti-virus protocols, threat assessment, and information protection strategies.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to Level 3 support requests, addressing issues such as archiving, deletions, bugs, and enhancements.
  • Conduct routine patching cycles and validate their effectiveness.
  • Engage in research to discover and propose innovative technology solutions that align with the firm's business needs.
  • Collaborate with partners and internal stakeholders to address and fulfill business requirements.
  • Work effectively within a team environment, consistently exceeding expectations.
  • Communicate effectively and manage expectations with stakeholders.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service aptitude.
  • Project management capabilities.
  • 3-5 years of experience with SQL.
  • 3-5 years of experience in supporting web-based applications.
  • Proven experience in resolving complex and escalated issues.
  • Familiarity with the application lifecycle, from design through testing, implementation, patching, and production support.
  • Ability to build partnerships and collaborate across various business and functional areas.
  • Adaptability to change and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Capability to interpret business documents, write routine correspondence, and communicate effectively with employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Problem-solving skills to navigate a variety of variables with minimal standardization.
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Internet Information Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Intapp Time, Elite 3E, CPI Patent Docketing and Trademark, and Foundation.
  • Desirable: Familiarity with Experience Search, Elegrity, and Design Gallery.
