Custodial Professional Job Description

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Custodial Professional to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual, and annual cleaning schedules to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
  • Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning compounds.
  • Lock and unlock assigned buildings, secure building when facilities are not in use, and check for unlocked doors and windows.
  • Report safety violations and actively participate in emergency situations.
  • Maintain necessary records and prepare required reports.
  • Attend safety meetings and other related meetings.
Requirements:
  • 2 years of experience in building or institutional custodial work or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively individually and with a team.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Proven record of cleaning and sanitizing laboratories, offices, washrooms, and showers.
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures.
  • Strong background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals in a safe manner.
  • Proven ability to work for long hours on one's feet.
  • Agile to perform physical tasks constantly.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules.
Clearance Requirements:

Candidate must be able to qualify and obtain a SECRET security clearance. This position requires an active SECRET security clearance for continued employment and must be a U.S. Citizen.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The employee is on his/her feet most of the shift and must be able to walk to/from distant trash disposal sites daily. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch, occasionally crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

The employee needs to have the ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.

Benefits:

This federal government project is subject to the Service Contract Act (SCA). The hourly rate for this position is determined by the location where work is performed. In addition to hourly pay, positions subject to SCA are entitled to a health and welfare (H&W) payment, which may be adjusted based employee selection of company benefits in lieu of H&W.
