Medical Clinic Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Clinic Assistant to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide administrative support to our medical providers and assist with the organization of on-campus medical clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the organization of on-campus medical clinics, including charting, filing, and data entry.
- Provide clerical support to medical providers, including typing, formatting, and saving medical records.
- Complete dental history forms, x-ray requests, and lab slips as needed.
- Assist with sedation and NPO orders, including obtaining consents and turning in documents.
- Retrieve medical profiles and results from IRIS and Caregate as needed.
- Order supplies and turn in work orders as required.
- Fax orders to the appropriate location and deliver forms to labs, consults, and x-rays.
- Answer phone calls and enter information into RADS for injury reports.
- File progress notes and orders on charts and scan documents for processing.
- Search for and obtain information not located in charts and track follow-ups as ordered by providers.
- Prepare and fax medical packets to community PCPs for community transfers.
Requirements:
- Documented experience in clerical/administrative support work.
- Experience in the use of personal computers, including Word, Excel, IRIS, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of medical coding, terms, and practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively and multi-task.
