Job Summary:
The Assistant WIC Clinical Professional is a critical role in the Denton County Health Department, responsible for providing clinical and educational services to clients of the WIC Program. This position requires a strong understanding of nutrition and health practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct interviews with clients to obtain dietary data and provide counseling on proper nutritional and health care practices.
- Determine program eligibility based on State and Federal guidelines.
- Perform clinical tasks such as weighing and measuring clients, obtaining blood samples, and analyzing nutritional habits.
- Prepare and update client records, including graphs of measurements and medical conditions.
- Represent Denton County Health Department at community health fairs and events.
- Assist in preparing annual Nutrition and Breastfeeding promotional plans.
- High School Diploma or GED, completion of some college-level coursework, and a minimum of two years of experience in a related field.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a State of Texas driver's license within 90 days of employment.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred but not required.
