Job Title: Project Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at Bergelectric. As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the management of projects from start-up to closeout, working closely with project managers and other team members to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the management of project startup and closeout processes, including bid turnover, project requirements, and material procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and federal/state laws, and provide regular status updates and documentation records.
  • Coordinate material requisition, submittal compilation, purchase orders, on-site job walk-throughs, change orders, and close-out documents.
  • Assist in writing quotations and project proposals, estimating projects when necessary, reviewing contracts, and setting up projects in relevant software applications.
  • Maintain and manage online project document postings using Bluebeam Studio and Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors and clients.
  • Assist in coordinating project teams, including field supervision, project resources, and support department staff.
  • Monitor project planning, execution, and closure, and all project functions related to quality control and project management.
  • Establish and maintain project management files, maintain drawing sets, estimate material takeoffs, and develop change requests.
  • Research, acquire, and collate submittals and operations & maintenance manual materials.
  • Actively utilize project management software and company network to meet all project requirements for documenting, measuring, tracking, and resolving project issues.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of electrical experience or knowledge of construction, design, and cost management as a Project Engineer with Commercial, Institutional, and/or Industrial projects.
  • Experience preparing take-offs and estimates for change orders.
  • Advanced abilities in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of NEC and NECA codes and TIA standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of the NFPA codes and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, etc.) and an understanding of Company and industry practices, processes, and standards and their impact on project activities.
  • Knowledge of base principles of scheduling, project management for construction, and electric materials is a plus.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Bluebeam, Accubid, or other estimation software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to present self in a professional manner and represent the company image.
  • Demonstrated track record of leadership and project success.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
Working Environment:

This role operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc.

There may be a variety of weather conditions while on jobsites such as rain, snow, heat.

There may be high noise levels while on jobsites.

Salary Range:

USD $80,000.00 - USD $90,000.00 /Yr.
