Job Summary

As a Guest Services Assistant with the Indianapolis Airport Authority, you will play a vital role in providing world-class service to passengers and customers. Your primary responsibility will be to assist passengers and customers, while maintaining a positive and professional image of the airport and industry.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide information to passengers and the public concerning flight and airport information, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, convention activity, ground route information, and airport retail information.
* Answer telephone calls and respond to callers concerning the above information.
* Operate the public address paging system and convey messages to those paged.
* Maintain a log of all message requests and successful delivery of the same.
* Assist callers and people appearing in person who have deafness or who speak languages other than English.
* Identify resources to assist members of the public.
* Project a positive and professional image of the airport and industry.
* Be pleasant and professional while executing excellent customer care and service.
* Use a POS system to accept payments for various IAA fees.
* Accept and distribute lost and found items and ensure accurate records are maintained.
* Pack and ship lost and found items back to the owner.
* Reserve meeting rooms and ensure payment is collected.
* Escort various groups for the IAA Art and Welcome Programs.

Requirements

* Graduation from a standard high school or successful completion of a high school equivalency examination or any combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the duties of this position.
* Intermediate knowledge of computer-based software (i.e. Microsoft word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
* Effectively communicate and comprehend English, both orally and in writing. The ability to speak and comprehend Spanish is a plus.
* Minimum of two (2) years prior experience in public contact environment or airlines background.

Work Environment

* Work at public desk in airport terminal.
* Possible exposure to high stress situations.
* Work independently and as part of a team.
* Work among distractions.
