Job Summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a skilled Instrument Processing Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Central Service team, you will be responsible for the decontamination, assembly, inspection, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of reusable surgical instruments and equipment.

Responsibilities

Perform delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient and procedural areas within the hospital.
Decontaminate, assemble, inspect, package, sterilize, store, and distribute reusable surgical instruments and equipment.
Clean, package, and re-process reusable surgical equipment, instrumentation, and scopes according to manufacturer guidelines.
Maintain inventory and storage of processed supplies.
Support the surgical team by providing timely and accurate processing of instruments and equipment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of one year of instrumentation experience or successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service with Central Service Technician certification.
Additional qualifications include successful completion of a vocational program for Central Service and one year of instrumentation experience in a hospital setting.
Basic computer knowledge and good interpersonal skills are also required.
