General Position Overview

The primary responsibility of the Equipment Coordinator is to oversee, plan, and manage all equipment assets in accordance with the company's guidelines and procedures. This role is crucial for ensuring operational efficiency while keeping a close eye on costs to minimize expenditures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily monitoring of equipment inventories and assess needs based on specified criteria.
  • Thoroughly track and report on idle, damaged, and missing assets.
  • Collaborate closely with various departments and external vendors to fulfill necessary duties.
  • Assist truckers, shippers, and sales teams with equipment-related issues and facilitate equipment acquisition.
  • Prepare, oversee, and analyze weekly reports as directed by management in alignment with KPIs.
  • Perform detailed reviews and rigorous invoice audits of vendors, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Report directly to the department manager.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Capable of managing high volumes of email correspondence.

Education and Experience

  • Preferred: College degree or High School Diploma with a relevant combination of education and work experience.
  • Industry experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Steam Ship Lines, including Ocean Carrier Freight Forwarders, is preferred.

Knowledge and Abilities

  • Experience in monitoring, planning, and managing both empty and laden containers within the company's operational framework.
  • Familiarity with logistics, transportation, or fleet management is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel/Word).
  • Adept at multitasking and problem-solving.
