Job Summary

The Virginia Commonwealth University Department of Internal Medicine is seeking a highly qualified Infectious Diseases Physician to join our team as a Hospital Epidemiologist and General Infectious Diseases Faculty member. This is an hourly faculty position that requires a strong background in infectious diseases and epidemiology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach in the areas of infectious diseases and epidemiology.
  • Service: The faculty member will serve on departmental, School, and/or University committees as necessary, as well as in a professional capacity in their field.
  • Clinical: The faculty member will contribute to the clinical mission of VCU Health, providing comprehensive care to patients and working with interdisciplinary teams to provide superior clinical care.
Requirements
  • Board eligible/board certified (or equivalent) in infectious diseases or a closely related discipline.
  • A record of publication and conference dissemination demonstrating expertise in the faculty's area of research.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Program experience with Hospital Infection Prevention Programming or Infection Control.
Additional Information

This is a .08 FTE position, ineligible for tenure, with a rank of Open. The position is 12 months per year, with a salary commensurate with experience.
