Role Summary: The Purchasing Manager will oversee all procurement functions, ensuring the efficient and economical acquisition of materials, services, and equipment essential for our construction initiatives. This position will also include the supervision of an additional team member, offering direction and support to facilitate the effective functioning of the purchasing division.
Primary Duties:
- Formulate and execute procurement strategies to guarantee timely acquisition of materials and services.
- Negotiate agreements and pricing with vendors and subcontractors to obtain optimal terms.
- Monitor stock levels and collaborate with project managers to anticipate future requirements.
- Manage supplier relationships, assessing performance and ensuring adherence to company standards.
- Review and process purchase orders, ensuring precision and compliance with budgetary limits.
- Work with the finance team to monitor spending and prepare financial analyses.
- Oversee and guide a purchasing assistant, providing necessary training and support.
- Stay informed on market trends and industry changes to make educated procurement choices.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement within the construction or home building sector.
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and supplier management.
- Strong organizational and time management capabilities, with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
- Detail-oriented with robust analytical and problem-solving skills.
