About the Role

Aon is seeking a highly skilled Marine Insurance Broker to join our team in San Francisco. As a key member of our Marine Brokerage team, you will be responsible for broking, designing, selling, and servicing accounts for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Market and Place Business: Identify and analyze client exposures, determine which markets to utilize, and ensure thorough evaluation of qualified companies in the marketplace.
  2. Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain productive business relationships with key insurance underwriters and Aon local office teams.
  3. Business Development: Identify and analyze prospect and client exposures, and coordinate activities with other internal units as required to meet customer needs.
  4. Account Management: Present to local account executives, participate in RFPs, client meetings, and conference calls.
  5. Team Collaboration: Build productive working relationships with peers and higher-level professionals internally and externally to exchange information and make recommendations.
Requirements
  1. Strong Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact effectively at various levels.
  2. Attention to Detail: Ability to multi-task, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to make and communicate difficult decisions.
  3. Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years of marine insurance brokerage and/or underwriting experience and/or related experience.
  4. Knowledge: Effective working knowledge of carrier underwriting practices & processes.
  5. Client-Facing Skills: Proven skills in working with teams and ability to work with clients and to successfully exceed client expectations.
  6. Communication Skills: Proven client-facing skills including effective presentations & communications.
  7. Organization and Teamwork: Proven organization and ability to work with others.
  8. Adaptability: Ability to operate in a fast-paced driven environment that requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  9. Sales Experience: Sales experience preferred.
  10. License: Must maintain appropriate broker's license.
