Position Title: Retail Sales Associate - Material Handler

Job Category: Thrift Store Operations

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Retail Sales Associate and Material Handler. This role is essential in ensuring that our store operates smoothly and efficiently while providing excellent service to our customers and donors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Welcome and assist all customers and donors with a friendly demeanor, ensuring their needs are met.
  2. Prepare and display merchandise on the sales floor according to established standards.
  3. Sort and process donations in alignment with organizational guidelines.
  4. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe store environment, performing cleaning tasks as directed by management.
  5. Adhere to all cash register policies and procedures to ensure accurate transactions.
  6. Report any safety hazards or concerns to management promptly.
  7. Comply with all human resources policies and procedures.
  8. Participate in mandatory monthly team meetings.
  9. Follow the dress code as outlined in company policies.
  10. Be flexible with work schedules to provide adequate coverage, including evenings and weekends.
  11. Receive and stock inventory efficiently and accurately.
  12. Conduct quality checks on products to identify any defects or damages.
  13. Keep the donation area tidy and organized at the start and end of each shift.
  14. Assist donors with unloading items and provide receipts as needed.
  15. Sort and categorize donated materials appropriately.
  16. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Skills: Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members.

Experience: Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred.

Licenses & Certifications: Must pass a background check.
