In the role of Outpatient Oncology Clinical Pharmacist at Banner MD Anderson Medical Center, you will collaborate with a diverse oncology clinic team in an outpatient environment. Experience in oncology is beneficial for this position. Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, with rotating weekend responsibilities.

Our services include WIS and NICU, supporting an average of 4,000 deliveries annually, with key specialties in oncology, obstetrics, bariatric surgery, and emergency services tailored to the evolving needs of our community.

Position Overview:
This role actively engages with the healthcare team as a pharmacotherapy expert, ensuring high-quality patient care in your specialty area. Responsibilities include ongoing evaluation and documentation of pharmaceutical care provided to patients, conducting educational initiatives, applying performance improvement principles, and participating in relevant committees.

You will be accountable for departmental and individual patient outcomes by assessing and interpreting data reflective of patient status, identifying needs, and delivering tailored pharmaceutical care. This includes overseeing pharmacy technicians, coordinating workflow, and verifying medications prior to dispensing. Compliance with local, state, and federal pharmacy laws is essential.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Doctorate in Pharmacy and completion of a PGY1 residency program are required. If residency training is not completed, a minimum of three years of progressive clinical pharmacy experience in a health system is necessary, with expertise in disease state and medication management.

Additional qualifications include board certification through the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties. A valid pharmacist license in the state of practice is required, along with a degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy. If not currently licensed, completion of the Board of Pharmacy application process is required within 30 days of job offer, with licensure within 90 days of hire unless delayed by the State Board of Pharmacy.

Knowledge of medication management software, including pharmacy systems, Microsoft applications, and automated dispensing systems is essential. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with staff, physicians, and other stakeholders.
