Overview: This role is essential in executing HR-related functions at a professional level, collaborating closely with HR leadership to support various operational regions. The position encompasses critical areas such as benefits management, employee engagement, training initiatives, performance assessment, onboarding processes, policy enforcement, recruitment strategies, affirmative action compliance, and adherence to employment legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage diverse HR plans and policies for all personnel.
- Contribute to the establishment of departmental goals, objectives, and systems.
- Oversee the performance evaluation framework and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Assist in the upkeep of the employee handbook and policy manuals.
- Manage benefits administration, including claims resolution, reporting changes, approving invoices, and communicating benefits to staff.
- Support employee relations through counseling, outplacement services, coaching, and exit interviews.
- Analyze job roles; draft job descriptions, ensuring accurate FLSA classification and salary grading.
- Build and maintain partnerships with hiring managers to understand current and future staffing needs.
- Conduct searches for qualified candidates based on relevant criteria using various recruitment resources.
- Screen applicants and provide recommendations to hiring managers.
- Perform reference checks for candidates.
- Oversee pre-employment processes, including background checks and drug screenings.
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation for new hires to promote a positive organizational culture.
- Ensure the accuracy of personnel records and employee information in the HRIS.
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing for multiple entities.
- Address employee inquiries regarding benefits and retirement plans.
- Verify employee enrollments with HR vendors and plan carriers.
- Respond to employment verification requests.
- Engage in other special projects as assigned.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field is required.
- Experience: A bachelor's degree with three to five years of HR experience, or a master's degree in Human Resource Management with two years of HR experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
