Position Summary
As the Executive Director of Alliance Management, you will report directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and play a crucial role in overseeing and driving the success of our collaborative initiatives. This position requires a proactive leader with a strong background in relationship management, capable of navigating complex partnerships and ensuring alignment with Verve's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse portfolio of strategic partnerships, collaborating with cross-functional teams to align and achieve corporate objectives.
- Prepare cross-functional teams for joint committee meetings, ensuring that project timelines and goals are met.
- Maintain regular communication with partner alliance management counterparts and key stakeholders to address collaboration-related issues and opportunities.
- Coordinate with Legal, Finance, Business Development, and other teams to ensure compliance with contract terms, including roles, responsibilities, milestones, and financial transactions.
- Develop meeting agendas and facilitate discussions to drive key decisions and strategic direction during partner meetings.
- Engage with partners to guide alliance operations and uncover new value-creating opportunities.
- Proactively identify potential issues and collaborate with leadership to devise effective solutions.
- Contribute to corporate development efforts by evaluating growth opportunities and managing transactions.
- Keep senior management informed of significant issues, milestones, and changes in partnerships.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with partner personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; MBA or PhD preferred.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector, with at least 7 years in project or alliance management.
- Familiarity with early-stage drug development processes.
- Proven ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks while adapting to changing priorities.
- Strategic and tactical thinking skills, with the ability to present recommendations effectively to senior leadership.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to influence others.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
