Job Responsibilities
The Senior Liability Adjuster is responsible for managing intricate third-party liability claims, including property damage, and providing expert insights and recommendations to management and insurance carriers. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing coverage for both personal and commercial claims.
- Conducting comprehensive investigations into liability claims.
- Determining settlement values for losses.
- Engaging in settlement negotiations.
- Ensuring timely management of claims disposition.
This position also involves responding to settlement demands and governmental inquiries, as well as supporting fellow adjusters as necessary.
Essential Duties
Key duties include:
- Providing professional opinions and recommendations regarding complex third-party liability claims.
- Evaluating coverage for intricate personal and commercial liability claims, including any applicable limitations.
- Managing and collaborating with legal counsel, engineers, and experts during investigations and negotiations.
- Establishing settlement values based on exposure.
- Coordinating responses to settlement demands and governmental requests.
- Assisting other adjusters as required.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in handling third-party liability claims, including complex cases.
- Active pursuit of industry designations (e.g., CPCU, AIC, SCLA) is preferred.
- A valid Driver's License and Claims Adjuster's License.
Skills Required
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and possess basic mathematical skills for data analysis and reporting.
