Position Overview:
The Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our team. This role involves working with preschool children who have special educational needs.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough evaluations to determine therapy requirements.
  • Collaborate in developing and updating individualized treatment plans as needed.
  • Implement occupational therapy techniques as prescribed by medical professionals or outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Engage with multidisciplinary teams, including family members and educators, to ensure holistic treatment approaches.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and student therapists.
  • Participate in the design and delivery of educational programs for staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, including evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, in accordance with agency protocols.
  • Recommend the acquisition of specialized materials and adaptive equipment to enhance therapy services.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current New York State licensure as a Registered Occupational Therapist.
  • Strong computer proficiency and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new challenges and environments.

Physical Requirements:
Physical activities may include standing, sitting, bending, lifting, kneeling, and engaging in various movements to interact with pediatric patients. Adequate vision, speech, and hearing are essential to fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
