Job Overview:
As the Regional Project Portfolio Manager, you will oversee the execution of quality assurance and quality control assessments, while facilitating the advancement of design documents, specifications, and engineering materials to ensure adherence to regulatory and legal standards.

Your role will involve collaboration with internal teams such as Design Engineering, Data Center Supply Solutions, Power and Cooling, Security, Controls, and Commissioning to develop Data Centers that effectively serve our clientele.

Additionally, you will engage with external design consultants to ensure alignment and compliance.
We are open to candidates from various locations across Europe.

AWS Regional Project Portfolio Managers possess a comprehensive understanding of the commercial design and construction landscape, with experience in evaluating technical and contractual documents, alongside strong communication and documentation skills.

In this capacity, you will meticulously review documentation for thoroughness, enhance and create procedures to streamline workflows, and identify opportunities for improvement.

As the Regional Project Portfolio Manager, you will oversee the intake of new capacity initiatives, ensure SLA compliance in vendor documentation reviews, advocate for documentation quality, compliance, and completeness, and keep stakeholders informed about the progress of final workflow documentation.

This role involves managing a significant volume of documentation reviews, requiring sound judgment in stakeholder communication and engagement through various tools.

The position offers flexibility and potential for advancement into a future Regional Design Management role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects' engineering documents, specifications, and materials while coordinating workflows with relevant stakeholders to enhance the quality and coherence of the provided content.
  • Ensure that the team conducts thorough quality reviews of technical documentation for accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee engineering quality assurance and quality control reviews for all design documents prior to their submission for construction.
  • Coordinate all engineering and architectural specifications, design documents, and track submissions for various projects.
  • Assist Regional Engineering Managers in monitoring the completion of documentation at different design phases and during construction handover, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials, calculations, etc.
  • Manage project archiving, tracking, processing, and filing activities, including naming standards and versioning schemas.
  • Develop training initiatives on portfolio management platforms for internal and external partners.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports on project progress, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and tracking metrics.
  • Collaborate with technical teams in a dynamic environment, demonstrating the ability to edit and enhance high-quality technical documentation.
  • Act as Configuration Analyst/System Owner for design engineering documents, consolidating design materials from partner teams into a cohesive document package.
  • Lead and implement process improvements for both short-term gains and long-term redesign efforts.
  • Manage a portfolio of capacity delivery projects within a designated region, including new construction initiatives and ad-hoc audits as necessary.
  • Maintain and manage user accounts, security groups, and permission access levels.
  • Support Regional Engineering Managers in tracking the completion of key lifecycle deliverables for data centers, including goal-setting and strategy documentation.
  • Collect data for regional business reviews and prepare documents in alignment with regional management.
  • Participate in key stakeholder meetings, documenting minutes and communicating updates or requirements.
  • Conduct audits to ensure adherence to established processes.
  • Travel may be required up to 25% of the time.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture is required.
- 3+ years of experience as a project engineer for large commercial construction projects or 2+ years in the design or construction sector.
- Proven experience managing documents across various office software platforms, including Autodesk BIM360, Bluebeam, Salesforce, and Procore.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Salesforce, BIM, Procore, SharePoint, and collaborative management systems.
- Engineering experience in Data Centers.
- Knowledge of project scheduling within the design/construction lifecycle.
