Job Title: Project Director

Department: EPIC

Overview

The Project Director plays a pivotal role in steering the project team towards successful implementation and ongoing maintenance, while also crafting a long-term strategic vision for the department. This position serves as the primary communication hub, ensuring a unified vision, plan, and objectives across all departmental areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offering organizational insights and direction to empower the team in decision-making processes.
  • Overseeing the scope, budget, timeline, and quality of all present and future initiatives.
  • Managing personnel and allocating resources effectively.
  • Possessing comprehensive knowledge of all facets of implementation, maintenance, and future options.
  • Coordinating all project-related activities, including software and hardware tasks, business and IT responsibilities, and establishing a super user program.
  • Making informed decisions.
  • Engaging with leadership across various facilities.
  • Setting realistic expectations throughout the organization regarding ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Fostering a positive team environment.
  • Advocating for the system and promoting it positively to the user community.
  • Regularly reviewing project progress with Epic (Wisconsin) and organizational leadership.
  • Aligning the organization’s overall needs and strategic direction with Epic (Wisconsin).

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading large teams and effectively managing staff.
  • Exceptional communication and organizational capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale projects.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Familiarity with Epic systems is advantageous but not essential.
  • Project Management certification is preferred; however, relevant project management experience is required.
  • Completion of assigned EPIC (WISCONSIN) certifications and/or training is expected within the initial employment period.
