Sustainability Compliance Officer
The Sustainability Compliance Officer is an integral member of the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team, reporting to the Environmental Manager. This role focuses on ensuring that our operations adhere to environmental standards and regulations, supporting various facilities within our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee compliance activities across designated facilities, ensuring alignment with corporate, federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
  • Design and deliver training programs for staff and contractors on environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
  • Assist in the compilation of necessary reports and maintain comprehensive records related to environmental compliance.
  • Lead and participate in environmental audits and inspections, addressing findings and ensuring timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information for environmental permits and compliance reporting.
  • Engage with regulatory bodies as needed to address compliance issues and facilitate resolution.
  • Occasional travel may be required for training and meetings.
  • Manage the Environmental Management System (EMS) for the site, including policy development, incident investigations, and training programs.

Experience Requirements:
  • Experience managing hazardous waste and regulatory compliance.
  • Familiarity with database management and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) and Facility Response Plans (FRP).
  • Experience in developing environmental standards and protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in an industrial setting.
  • In-depth understanding of environmental regulations and management systems.
  • Proven ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours as required by operational needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff and regulatory personnel.
  • This role may require working in various environmental conditions, including outdoor settings and confined spaces.
