Medical Laboratory Specialist

SSM Health is seeking a skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our team at St. Mary's Hospital-Centralia. As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing routine and complex technical laboratory analyses.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a full range of laboratory tests, from simple blood tests to complex tests, to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Assess specimens for correct handling and quality, and confirm the accuracy of test results.
- Operate complex electronic equipment, computers, and precision instruments, and perform periodic maintenance and calibration of instruments.
- Assist with the proper storage of hazardous materials and maintain competencies and continuing education to stay informed of new developments in the field.
- Participate in the proficiency testing program in the lab and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education.
- No experience required.
- State of Work Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin.
- Required Professional License and/or Certifications: Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - American Association for Bioanalysts (AAB), Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - American Medical Technologists (AMT), or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) (International Included) - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
