Medical Laboratory Specialist

As a Medical Laboratory Technician at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by performing routine and complex technical laboratory analyses.
Under general direction, you will be responsible for operating complex electronic equipment, computers, and precision instruments to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
You will assess specimens for correct handling and quality, confirm the accuracy of test results, and report findings to physicians.
Additionally, you will perform and evaluate quality control procedures, maintain competencies and continuing education, and assist with the proficiency testing program in the lab.
This is a PRN / Per Diem Shift position, and you will work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements include an Associate's degree or equivalent years of experience and education, and certification as a Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT).
