Job Title: Materials Coordinator

Job Summary:

The Materials Coordinator will be responsible for performing a variety of materials handling tasks, including receiving and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize knowledge of receiving and/or distribution and packaging equipment to perform materials handling tasks.
  • Use judgment to locate and store items, package materials, and release materials as needed.
  • Work effectively in a team setting to support team goals and objectives.
  • Perform physical and administrative tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, and distributing materials, parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Coordinate, route, and handle materials, including unpacking and checking goods received against purchase orders or invoices.
  • Handle a variety of packages and parts, lifting or moving 5-45 lbs. continuously, and operate a forklift as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped, including weights and shipping charges.
  • Examine, stock, and distribute materials in inventory and on manufacturing lines, with an emphasis on material coordination.
  • Visually inspect materials for defects or damage and support the Quality Alert process for internal and external customer complaints.
  • Work on assignments that are moderately complex in nature, requiring the ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice.
  • Use judgment to locate and store items, package materials, and release materials as needed, and maintain accurate logs.
  • Coordinate and/or execute special projects as required by the Department, and conduct daily cycle counts to maintain accurate inventories.
  • Ensure internal shipments/Kitting is accurate and free of damage, and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
  • Proactively identify and report safety and complaint concerns, and finish work in a timely manner.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED; basic math and PC skills.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years' material handling experience in a warehouse setting.
  • 2-3 years Oracle experience is preferred, and enthusiasm for learning more.
  • Strong attention to detail, reading, writing, basic arithmetic skills required, and ability to follow procedures and safety protocols.
  • Lifting or moving of 5-45 lbs. continuously.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Ability to utilize material handling equipment to move materials.
  • Willingness to work overtime as job demands, and punctuality and dependability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform data entry with accuracy.
  • Customer-focused, with excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to train others.
  • Extensive knowledge and skills in the discipline and in related fields, contributing to advanced development benefiting the organization or function.
  • Experience mentoring and transferring knowledge to more junior staff members, working autonomously to resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to work in high-impact and/or highly complex functions, with minimal supervision, and exercise latitude in determining approach to work.
