Work Schedule/Location:
- Full-time position, approximately 40 hours per week.
- This is a hybrid role, allowing for remote work part of the time. Reliable internet access and the ability to work independently while building relationships in a hybrid environment are essential. Candidates should reside in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to facilitate regular in-person interactions.
Role Overview: As an outgoing and communicative team member, you will be responsible for managing, nurturing, and expanding a designated portfolio of gift donors. This includes overseeing all aspects of donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship through strategic outreach to enhance donor retention and commitment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Development: Formulate and implement a detailed action plan to identify, cultivate, and solicit key donors for AHS.
Continuous Improvement: Design and execute strategies to guide donors through the philanthropy pipeline.
Relationship Management: Establish meaningful connections with donors and prospects to strengthen donor loyalty and build personal relationships.
Portfolio Management: Oversee a portfolio of donor prospects, manage sustaining gifts, and identify potential contributors for annual operating and capital campaigns.
Reporting: Track donor prospects and document all qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
Collaborative Support: Assist in the development and execution of strategies for donor cultivation and stewardship. Collaborate on communication materials for prospects to reinforce the donor relationship continuum.
Cultural Contribution: Promote an inclusive and open work environment by exemplifying AHS's values and behaviors, aligned with the organization's vision and mission. Advocate for a culture of safety and meaningful volunteer engagement.
Additional Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years in philanthropy, demonstrating success in a collaborative team setting and proven gift growth.
Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with databases and CRM systems is preferred.
Attendance: Consistent attendance and punctuality are required, with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend shifts.
Adaptability: Ability to maintain professionalism and attention to detail in various situations.
Communication Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, capable of working independently and collaboratively with external donors and internal teams.
Physical and Emotional Resilience: Must be equipped to handle the physical and emotional demands of working in an animal shelter environment.
