About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and ambitious self-starter with excellent communication skills to join our Data Privacy team as a Privacy Specialist. This individual will play a key role in implementing our data privacy and compliance initiatives, working cross-functionally to build privacy into our operations and digital therapeutics.
Responsibilities- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with HIPAA and industry-specific, state, national, and international privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
- Support the development of digital therapeutics products through monitoring and implementing privacy-by-design principles, features, and processes.
- Proactively identify potential privacy risks and effectively manage response, remediation, and escalation.
- Draft, maintain, and enhance privacy-oriented documentation, such as policies, procedures, and privacy impacts assessments.
- Foster a culture of privacy-awareness through implementing, maintaining, and enhancing our data privacy training program.
- Coordinate and enable compliance monitoring and audit activities.
- Stay up-to-date with privacy regulatory trends and industry standards to contribute to the Privacy Program's continued success.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 1-3 years prior relevant work experience in Privacy or a related field.
- Working knowledge of privacy laws, including the Federal Privacy Act, state privacy laws, HIPAA, and GDPR.
- Proven ability to translate complex privacy concepts to empower actionable insights for non-expert audiences.
- Experience developing and writing policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Privacy Impact Assessments, and other technical writing.
- Superior verbal and written communication skills with the ability to construct clear and concise analyses.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance short and long-term project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in analyzing technical requirements and data flow diagrams to assess privacy risks and pinpoint privacy vulnerabilities within systems and processes.
