Academic Gastroenterologist Position

The University of Minnesota, Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, is seeking a highly skilled Gastroenterologist/Hepatologist to join our academic division. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to cutting-edge and patient-centered care, while developing our hepatology and transplant hepatology programs.
About the DivisionThe Gastroenterology Division's general GI Section hosts expanding clinical and research programs in IBD, esophageal disorders, complex polypectomy, use of AI in endoscopy, and functional GI diseases. Our transplant hepatology section hosts one of the longest standing liver transplant programs in the United States. We are committed to maintaining the highest ambitions for excellence in all three of our major missions: patient services, teaching, and research.
Responsibilities- Provide inpatient attending services on the liver service at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.
- Lead outpatient liver clinics in the state-of-the-art facility at M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.
- Offer consultations and outreach activities to patients and healthcare providers.
- Develop a clinical research program and contribute to the academic missions of the Department of Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
- Teach medical students, residents, and Gastroenterology fellows, and participate in educational conferences, CME, and collaboration with top specialists.
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship training programs.
- Board certified in internal medicine and board certified/board eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Advanced training in hepatology and clinical experience in hepatology and/or transplant hepatology is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated excellence in patient care, enthusiasm for medical education, and strong teaching skills.
- Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
- Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.
