University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a highly skilled Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist to join our team in a dynamic and patient-centered environment.

About the Opportunity

We are looking for a talented individual to become an integral part of our academic division, dedicated to cutting-edge and patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will have an interest in continuing the development of our hepatology and transplant hepatology programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient attending services on the liver service at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center.
  • Lead outpatient liver clinics in the state-of-the-art facility at M Health Fairview Clinics and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.
  • Develop a clinical research program and participate in academic missions of the Department of Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and Gastroenterology fellows.
  • Enjoy opportunities for continued development with educational conferences, CME, and collaboration with top specialists.

About the Division

The Gastroenterology Division hosts expanding clinical and research programs in IBD, esophageal disorders, complex polypectomy, use of AI in endoscopy, and functional GI diseases. The transplant hepatology section hosts one of the longest standing liver transplant programs in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited ACGME Internal Medicine residency and Gastroenterology Fellowship training programs.
  • Board certified in internal medicine and board certified/board eligible in Gastroenterology.
  • Advanced training in hepatology and clinical experience in hepatology and/or transplant hepatology is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated excellence in patient care, enthusiasm for medical education, and strong teaching skills.
  • Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
