The Financial Officer plays a crucial role in overseeing the comprehensive operational, fiscal, and budgetary functions for the General Budget Accounts and the Special Depository Account associated with election financing. This position is essential for maintaining accurate payroll and leave documentation, which is submitted to the County Clerk. Additionally, the Financial Officer is tasked with preparing and filing various reports, including the monthly Report of Officers and the Commissioner Meeting Agenda Request form, as well as other periodic submissions required by the Secretary.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities- Strong understanding of ethical standards relevant to the role, as dictated by professional norms and applicable laws.
- Advanced proficiency in computer applications, particularly MS Office, along with familiarity with office procedures and various software tools.
- Competence in performing mathematical computations and utilizing data entry systems, alongside word processing and file management applications.
- Ability to interpret, apply, and communicate instructions and guidelines effectively.
- Capacity to collaborate with colleagues and departmental leaders in a diverse work environment.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service abilities.
- Skill in prioritizing tasks, adhering to deadlines, and maintaining professionalism in a dynamic setting while ensuring the accuracy and completeness of records.
- Promptly address inquiries from vendors and other County Election Board Offices.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to the public.
- Efficiently manage correspondence via email and fax as required.
- Ensure accurate and effective communication with all stakeholders.
- Work is primarily conducted in a climate-controlled office environment with moderate noise levels. Employees are frequently required to engage in verbal communication, standing, and walking. This role necessitates prolonged periods of sitting and daily use of computers and telephones, with the expectation of remaining stationary for a significant portion of the time.
- Ability to stand, reach, and bend as needed.
- Utilization of office equipment such as computers, calculators, and printers is essential.
