Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Scheduler II to join our team at SSM Health. As a Scheduler II, you will play a critical role in coordinating patient appointments and ensuring seamless communication between healthcare providers and patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate scheduling and referrals to other healthcare providers and services, obtaining approval for schedule changes or cancellations as needed.
  • Assist with maintenance and updating of provider contact information to ensure accurate and timely communication.
  • Enter all medical appointments, special instructions, and patient information into our electronic medical system to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Follow site-specific protocols and maintain up-to-date documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and participate in improvement plans to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Work on special projects as needed to support the team and advance the goals of SSM Health.
  • May review the work of others to ensure quality and accuracy.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; 10 years of work experience may be substituted in lieu of education.
  • One year of experience in a scheduling or coordination role preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far, and to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication, and ability to hear alarms and malfunctioning machinery.
  • Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and gripping.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Rare climbing.
