Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Infrastructure Project Manager is a licensed Professional Engineer with 10-15 years of experience. This role involves overseeing and designing a range of public works projects, including roads, utilities, municipal buildings, recreational areas, and land development proposals from private entities. The position is based in the Allentown, PA region, serving the counties of Lehigh, Northampton, and Carbon.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary client liaison for multiple municipalities or public agencies, ensuring effective communication and project satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement engineering solutions to enhance and maintain infrastructure, including:
    • Designing transportation, utility, and facility systems using advanced computer-aided design tools.
    • Calculating load requirements, water flow rates, and material stress factors to meet design criteria.
    • Estimating material, equipment, and labor costs to assess project viability.
    • Analyzing various data sources such as survey reports and maps to inform project planning.
    • Conducting studies on traffic and environmental conditions to identify engineering challenges and evaluate project impacts.
    • Ensuring all design work complies with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.
    • Identifying environmental risks and creating strategies to mitigate them.
  • Attend public meetings as the Municipal Engineer or Planning Commission Engineer, presenting reports on project proposals and status updates.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to clients on design, construction, and modifications to capital programs.
  • Support field operations by offering timely data, reviewing shop drawings, and coordinating with clients.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in municipal engineering is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver public presentations effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to define problems, gather data, and draw conclusions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Capability to mentor junior staff members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES REQUIRED:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License is mandatory.
