Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Residential Manager to join our team at Developmental Services, Inc. in Columbus.

Estimated Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising direct care staff, coordinating day-to-day activities, and maintaining communication with the Agency and Community Living Services division.

Main Objectives:

  1. Ensure the implementation of Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) for each client.
  2. Train staff in all programs using various methods.
  3. Coordinate training and rehabilitation services.
  4. Monitor IPP implementation and follow up as needed.
  5. Schedule and chair interdisciplinary staff meetings for program planning and review.
  6. Maintain accurate records and file documentation.
  7. Participate in recreational, therapeutic, and training activities with clients.
  8. Serve as a liaison between clients, families, staff, professionals, and the community.
  9. Safeguard clients' human and civil rights.
  10. Maintain medication supplies and assist clients with budgeting.
  11. Oversee household supplies and petty cash management.
  12. Provide programming support and ensure compliance with State Board of Health regulations.
  13. Actively engage clients in community events.
  14. Demonstrate patience and professionalism when interacting with clients, staff, parents, and community members.
  15. Meet physical demands required for caring for clients, including lifting, bending, and manual dexterity.
  16. Ensure employees adhere to departmental policies and state/federal laws.
  17. Respond to client issues as needed.
  18. Maintain a safe environment.
  19. Utilize personal or company-provided devices for time entry and communication.
  20. Ensure clients' medical needs are met, including transportation to appointments.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Implement programs efficiently.
  • Convene staff meetings as necessary.
  • Document monthly day provider/residential meetings.
  • Route receipts to the Administrative Assistant.
  • Replenish household supplies.
  • Provide support to direct care staff.
  • Deliver direct care services, minimum 20 hours per week.
  • Document personnel issues and route to supervisors.
  • Complete duties delegated by supervisors.
  • Maintain confidentiality and coordinate with the business office for payment processing.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a human service field preferred.
  2. High School Diploma or equivalent required, plus at least one year of experience with the MR/DD population, preferably in a residential setting.

Certifications and Requirements:

  • Possess and maintain a clear driving record and valid Indiana driver's license.
  • Carry insurance on personal vehicles and meet agency liability insurance carrier requirements.
  • Maintain reliable transportation that meets state requirements for transporting clients.
  • OBTAIN AND MAINTAIN CERTIFICATION IN CPR, FIRST AID, AND NCI, AS WELL AS MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION.
  • Attend requested meetings and training sessions.
  • Engage in professional organizations related to the field.
