Job Responsibilities and Requirements

As a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, you will deliver direct patient care to individuals in need of rehabilitative and therapeutic services within an inpatient environment. Your responsibilities will include:

· Conducting age-appropriate rehabilitation assessments and developing personalized care plans.

· Coordinating therapy schedules based on the patient's requirements and care strategies.

· Collaborating with patients and their families, considering developmental, cultural, and age-specific differences, to create and implement care plans that address problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions.

· Effectively communicating with physicians regarding patients' clinical conditions and diagnostic results.

· Implementing appropriate skin care protocols to maintain skin integrity.

· Participating in departmental process improvement initiatives.

· Maintaining professionalism and composure, particularly in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications:

· Active Registered Nurse License in the State of Alaska.

· Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

· Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS or ACLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

· Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

· A minimum of one year of experience in Rehabilitation or Medical/Surgical nursing is preferred.

About the Unit:

  • Establish rapport with patients with diverse diagnoses, including Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac, and Orthopedic conditions.
  • Experience the fulfillment of witnessing patients progress from being bedridden to walking out after an average stay of 13-14 days.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising therapeutic services (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology), Case Managers, Clinical Rehabilitation Specialists, and Medical Directors on complex patient cases.
