Job Responsibilities and QualificationsAs a dedicated Registered Nurse in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, you will deliver direct care to patients requiring rehabilitation and therapeutic services. Your role will involve:
· Conducting age-appropriate rehabilitation assessments and formulating tailored care plans.
· Coordinating therapy schedules in alignment with patient needs and care objectives.
· Collaborating with patients and families to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that consider developmental, cultural, and age-specific factors.
· Effectively communicating with physicians regarding patient conditions and diagnostic results.
· Ensuring appropriate skin care to maintain patient skin integrity.
· Participating in departmental process improvement initiatives.
· Maintaining professionalism and composure, particularly in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications:
· Active Registered Nurse License in the State of Alaska.
· Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
· Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
· Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
· Preferred experience includes one year in Rehabilitation or Medical/Surgical nursing.
About the Unit:
- Build strong relationships with patients facing various diagnoses, including Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac, and Orthopedic conditions.
- Experience the rewarding transition of patients from being bedridden to walking out after an average stay of 13-14 days.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising therapeutic services (PT, OT, SLP), Case Managers, Clinical Rehabilitation Specialists, and Medical Directors on complex patient cases.
