Job Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, you will deliver direct patient care to individuals needing rehabilitative and therapeutic services in a hospital setting. Your responsibilities will include:

· Conducting age-appropriate rehabilitation assessments and developing personalized care plans.

· Coordinating therapy schedules tailored to the patient's needs and care objectives.

· Collaborating with patients and their families to respect developmental, cultural, and age-specific differences while implementing care plans.

· Effectively communicating with physicians regarding patients' clinical conditions and diagnostic results.

· Ensuring appropriate skin care to maintain patient skin integrity.

· Participating in departmental process improvement initiatives.

· Maintaining professionalism and composure, particularly in high-pressure situations.

Qualifications:

· Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Alaska.

· Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

· Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) from American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

· Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.

· A minimum of one year of experience in Rehabilitation or Medical/Surgical nursing is preferred.

About the Unit:

  • Build strong relationships with patients with diverse diagnoses, including Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac, and Orthopedic conditions.
  • Experience the fulfillment of witnessing patients progress from being bedridden to walking out after an average stay of 13-14 days.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical, occupational, and speech therapists, as well as case managers and clinical rehabilitation specialists, on complex patient cases.
