Job Summary and QualificationsAs a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse in the Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit, you will deliver direct patient care to individuals in need of rehabilitative and therapeutic services within an inpatient environment. Your responsibilities will include developing personalized care plans through assessment and strategic planning. Our team operates with a family-like support system, and we seek individuals who share our commitment to meaningful patient care. In this role:
· You will conduct age-appropriate rehabilitation assessments and formulate tailored patient care plans.
· You will coordinate therapy schedules based on individual patient needs and care plans.
· You will collaborate with patients and their families, considering developmental, cultural, and age-specific factors, to create and implement care plans that address problems, goals, evaluations, and interventions.
· You will effectively communicate with physicians regarding patients' clinical conditions and diagnostic results.
· You will ensure appropriate skin care to maintain skin integrity for patients.
· You will engage in process improvement initiatives within the department.
· You will maintain professionalism and composure, particularly in high-pressure situations.
Qualifications:
· Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Alaska.
· Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
· Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
· Associate's Degree in Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
· A minimum of one year of experience in Rehabilitation or Medical/Surgical nursing is preferred.
About this Unit:
- Establish rapport with patients experiencing various diagnoses, including Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac, and Orthopedic conditions.
- Experience the fulfillment of witnessing patients progress from being bedridden to walking out after an average stay of 13-14 days.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team comprising therapeutic services (Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech-Language Pathology), Case Managers, Clinical Rehabilitation Specialists, and Medical Directors on complex patient cases.
