Job Summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a highly skilled Security Technology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Corporate Security department, you will be responsible for supporting all Corporate Security technology systems, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection systems, and related technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation: Assist in the design and implementation of physical security systems, including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection systems, and related technology.
  • System Administration: Support administration and maintenance of corporate security systems, including set-up requests, testing, programming, and troubleshooting, commissioning, and verifying system components.
  • Performance Testing: Provide testing documentation of performance tests on Critical infrastructure.
  • Investigations and Support: Support Corporate Security staff related to investigations; provide guidance to contract security guard staff regarding security technology issues.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to ensure that physical security systems meet organization's needs.
  • Technology Projects: Support technology projects including schedule testing, maintenance, upgrades, and new construction installations of security technology equipment (i.e., access control, CCTV, Intrusion Detection Systems, etc.) coordinating with IT, Facilities, Substation Maintenance, and security integrator personnel as necessary.
  • Design Drawings: Reviews design drawings for appropriate security coverage within all systems.
  • Test Methods and Record Keeping: Ensures adherence to proper test methods and record keeping requirements.
  • Physical Security Systems: Supports all physical security systems; provide in-house technical support and manage vendor support.
  • Security Technology Maintenance: Supports security technology maintenance program to ensure availability of critical physical security systems. Schedule maintenance and repair work related to Eversource physical security systems.
  • Data Management: Records and maintains data associated with corporate physical security technology systems including maintaining programming and networking configurations and documentation of all IP based security equipment.
  • Compliance: Supports Eversource's compliance requirements with all applicable government regulations related to Eversource's security technology systems.
  • Industry Knowledge: Maintains up to date knowledge of industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to physical security technology systems.
  • Improvement and Innovation: Identifies, recommends, and implements changes and/or improvements in physical security systems.
  • Staying Current: Stay abreast of trends and advances in security technology.
Requirements
  • Technical Knowledge/Skill: In-depth understanding of NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) desired. Strong understanding of various network configurations (LAN, WAN, etc.). Strong aptitude for programming and configuring access control and Video Management System based software. Strong understanding of camera configurations, including codecs, bitrate, framerate, etc. Strong understanding of relay-based logic for applications in access control. Strong computer skills and the ability to operate a variety of software programs relating to physical security systems and data bases are required. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Individual must demonstrate teamwork, strong communication skills and be self-motivated.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Three (3) plus years of experience in technical security systems. Genetec- access control system is desirable.
  • Licenses & Certifications: Must hold a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
