Corporate Security Systems Specialist

The Corporate Security Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and supporting all technological systems related to Corporate Security. This position acts as a representative of Corporate Security, making independent decisions on various technology-related security matters. The specialist collaborates with all levels of management and provides guidance and support to Corporate Security personnel and contract security staff regarding security technology needs.
Work Arrangement
This is a hybrid position, requiring full-time office presence for the initial three months.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and deployment of physical security systems, which include video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection technologies.
- Oversee the administration and upkeep of corporate security systems, including setup requests, testing, programming, troubleshooting, and verification of system components.
- Document performance testing of critical infrastructure.
- Support Corporate Security personnel with investigations and provide guidance to contract security staff on technology-related issues.
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure that physical security systems align with organizational requirements.
- Manage technology projects, including scheduling tests, maintenance, upgrades, and installations of security technology equipment, collaborating with IT, Facilities, and security integrators as necessary.
- Review design schematics to ensure adequate security coverage across all systems.
- Ensure compliance with testing methods and record-keeping standards.
- Provide technical support for all physical security systems and manage vendor relationships.
- Implement a maintenance program for security technology to ensure the availability of critical systems, scheduling necessary repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain records and data related to corporate physical security technology systems, including programming and networking configurations for all IP-based security equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant government regulations concerning security technology systems.
- Stay informed about industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to physical security technology.
- Identify, recommend, and implement enhancements to physical security systems.
- Keep abreast of trends and advancements in security technology.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) is preferred.
- Strong understanding of various network configurations (LAN, WAN, etc.).
- Proficient in programming and configuring access control and Video Management System software.
- Familiarity with camera configurations, including codecs, bitrate, and framerate.
- Knowledge of relay-based logic applications in access control.
- Strong computer skills and the ability to utilize various software programs related to physical security systems and databases.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated teamwork, strong communication skills, and self-motivation.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience in technical security systems.
- Experience with Genetec access control systems is desirable.
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license.
- Eversource offers a competitive total rewards program. The annual salary range for this position is $77,000 - $86,000 plus incentives, with salary commensurate with experience. For an overview of benefits, please refer to the career site.
