Youth and Family Support Specialist

Jewish Child Care Association is seeking a qualified Youth and Family Support Coordinator to join our Residential Treatment Campus. This campus provides a safe and supervised setting for at-risk youth, ages 5-21. The Coordinator will be part of the Families First initiative, designed to increase community-based programming and provide preventive services to families in need.
The program aims to reduce the amount of time a youth spends in residential care and return children to a family-based setting as quickly as possible.
Position Summary:
The Youth and Family Support Coordinator will provide direct supervision to staff, ensuring a structured, strength-based relationship between the Residential Treatment Team and Parent/Caregiver for the benefit of the youth. Services will be delivered in a trauma-informed, culturally and linguistically competent manner.
The Coordinator will supervise a team consisting of Youth Advocates, Parent Advocates, Aftercare Case Managers, and Family Support Specialists.
Essential Responsibilities:
Provide direct supervision and support to team members
Ensure team members assist families in achieving their goals, including skill building, coaching, transitional support, and community connections
Oversee the efforts of team members in providing support to families in learning and practicing strategies to strengthen their child's mental and physical development
Assist with collaboration and coordination between the interdisciplinary Residential Treatment Team and Family Support Team
Support implementation of relevant groups and events for youth and families to support their transition from residential to the community
Develop systems to monitor families' progress in achieving goals detailed in the plan
Support teams in coaching and modeling self-advocacy, self-efficacy, and empowerment skills for youth and parents
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC), Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT), or related field; license is required - limited permit accepted upon hire
Ability to collaborate with clients and teams that are culturally and professionally diverse
Proficient computer skills with the ability to quickly learn new platforms
Solid organizational and follow-up skills are required
Agreement to practice according to the Family Peer Advocate Code of Ethics
Clinical Supervision under LCSW is provided
Salary:
$65K - $70K salary
