YOUR ROLE AND CONTRIBUTION

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Building Operations Engineer to join our team within the Commercial division. This role is essential for the effective operation, upkeep, and repair of our commercial building systems, ensuring the longevity and functionality of our assets.

  • Operational Responsibilities - Collaborate with the team to ensure the safe and efficient management of all facility systems. This includes monitoring meters and gauges, diagnosing machinery issues, maintaining building systems (such as heating and pumping systems), adjusting controls, and overseeing conditions throughout the property via monitoring systems. A successful candidate will also be proficient in documenting repairs, installations, test results, and maintenance activities.
  • Supportive Functions - Aid in achieving financial objectives for the property through efficient maintenance management and cost-effective practices, while maintaining high-quality standards. Additionally, you will coordinate with vendors to ensure compliance with property requirements.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate for the Commercial Building Operations Engineer position will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Experience in high-rise and mixed-use buildings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP), electrical systems, fire safety protocols, and building automation.
  • Familiarity with various aspects of commercial buildings, including locks, plumbing, roofing, HVAC systems, and safety equipment. Previous experience in commercial HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs is advantageous.
  • Basic mathematical skills for data analysis and interpretation.
  • Ability to read and understand safety regulations, operational guidelines, and maintenance instructions.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Comfortable using both hand and power tools.
