Perioperative Services
Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the management functions of planning, organizing, staffing, budgeting, and directing surgical services and procedural areas to ensure that high-quality patient care is delivered in alignment with the organization's mission and objectives.
Accountability:
Reports directly to the Vice President of Patient Care Services.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
- A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in perioperative nursing, with at least two years in a management role.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in operating room nursing and management skills.
Performance Criteria:
- Teamwork: Collaborates with other departments in project planning and implementation, supports colleagues, and actively participates in team meetings.
- Service Excellence: Greets patients and customers warmly, listens attentively to their concerns, and ensures their dignity is maintained at all times.
- Quality of Care: Maintains high clinical competency, takes responsibility for patient care management, and evaluates care to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Administrative Management: Acts as a role model for staff, sets patient care standards, and develops departmental goals and objectives.
- Communication: Utilizes effective verbal and written communication skills, fosters teamwork, and keeps leadership informed of departmental activities.
- Personnel Management: Oversees the professional development of department personnel, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Professionalism: Commits to personal professional development and engages in activities that enhance the organization and the profession.
