We are looking for a skilled and forward-thinking Product Engineer with a focus on Flex Assemblies to become part of our innovative engineering team. The ideal candidate will be tasked with the design, development, and execution of flex assemblies tailored for various applications in the aerospace and defense sectors. This position demands a strong foundation in Mechanical Design, Connector Design, Flex PCB Design, and Systems Design. A thorough understanding of Mil-STD standards and a proven history of managing intricate engineering projects from inception to delivery are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Spearhead the design and development of flex assemblies for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring adherence to Mil-STD standards and client specifications.
2. Conduct comprehensive mechanical design tasks, including 3D modeling, analysis, and validation of design criteria.
3. Design and create connectors and flex PCBs, ensuring peak performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate flex assemblies into larger systems and address any design or performance challenges.
5. Manage the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept and design through to manufacturing, testing, and post-production support.
6. Facilitate regular design reviews and provide expert technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
7. Stay updated on the latest advancements in flex assembly technology, utilizing this knowledge to enhance our products and processes.
8. Work with suppliers and external partners to ensure successful integration of flex assemblies into our offerings.
9. Prepare detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, testing protocols, and user manuals.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
2. At least 5 years of experience in product engineering, particularly in flex assemblies.
3. Demonstrated expertise in Mechanical Design, Connector Design, Flex PCB Design, and Systems Design.
4. Strong knowledge of Mil-STD standards and their application in aerospace and defense product development.
5. Proficient in 3D modeling with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
6. Excellent problem-solving abilities, capable of addressing complex design and performance issues.
7. Strong project management skills, adept at handling multiple projects concurrently and meeting tight deadlines.
8. Exceptional communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams.
9. Familiarity with manufacturing processes and quality control standards in the aerospace and defense sectors.
10. Committed to continuous learning and staying informed about industry trends and innovations.
