Key Responsibilities: We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Preoperative and PACU care. This role involves floating between multiple facilities within the designated area. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Surgical Care Affiliates.

Conduct thorough assessments of patients' preoperative and postoperative conditions at specified intervals, adhering to organizational policies and procedures. This includes evaluating the patient's cardiovascular and respiratory systems, airway management needs, neurological status, hemodynamic stability, pain management, and mental well-being.

Accurately interpret data from various monitoring devices. Explain the pathophysiology of common medical conditions and the physiological aspects related to different anesthesia methods and surgical procedures.

Utilize appropriate scoring systems and discharge criteria for patient transfers, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.

Formulate a personalized perianesthesia care plan.

Implement the care plan with the following interventions:
- Prepare for and oversee patient recovery from various anesthesia types.
- Safeguard patients from injuries related to positioning and external factors.
- Communicate the patient's status throughout the perianesthesia care continuum.
- Provide acute pain management and comfort as necessary.
- Administer medications accurately, adhering to the 8 rights of safe medication administration.
- Maintain the integrity of the patient's wound and tissue perfusion.
- Ensure the stability of the patient's various bodily systems and fluid balances.
- Protect patients from infection and manage any co-morbid conditions as needed.
- Educate patients and their support persons about expected responses and care management.
- Uphold patient rights, dignity, and privacy throughout the care process.

Deliver age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, and ethical care within legal standards. Evaluate patient progress towards desired outcomes and facilitate care transitions as required.

Provide accurate and concise hand-off reports to team members regarding the patient's condition and response to care.

Delegate tasks in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act and relevant regulations.

Document nursing care thoroughly and legibly. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Engage in quality improvement initiatives and performance evaluations. Utilize problem-solving skills to foster positive team dynamics. Maintain professional competencies and pursue continuous growth. Advocate for patients while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with facility policies. Actively participate in team meetings and training sessions. Exhibit fiscal responsibility in all duties performed.

Qualifications: Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

Minimum of one year of experience in Preoperative or PACU settings required, along with medical/surgical nursing experience. Current state nursing license in good standing.

Completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) or Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within the initial employment period.

Completion of Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within the initial employment period.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification is required if pediatric care is within the facility's scope of services.

Compensation: USD $40.00/Hr. to USD $45.00/Hr.
