Job Summary

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care at Loma Linda University Medical Center. As a skilled and compassionate team member, you will be responsible for delivering direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your flexibility and ability to adapt to changing assignments and job duties will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate patient care, including basic non-licensed patient care activities.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to maximize customer service and promote a positive patient experience.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure seamless care delivery and effective communication.
  • Float to other departments as needed to support patient care and operational needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of a basic arrhythmia and recognition course.
  • Completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or School of Nursing fundamentals.
  • Minimum of six months experience as a patient care assistant, telemetry technician, or unit secretary.
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • Demonstrated competencies in fundamentals of patient care and knowledge of scope of practice for unlicensed healthcare team members.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
