We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Outreach Specialist to join our team at the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). As a key member of our outreach team, you will play a vital role in connecting with wounded service members, their families, and family support members, and empowering them to achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:- Establish and maintain relationships with wounded service members, their families, and family support members, providing them with information about WWP programs and services.
- Recruit and engage wounded warriors, family support members, and other support members in WWP events and activities.
- Plan and execute local and regional events and activities that promote connection, camaraderie, and family bonding among WWP Alumni and their families.
- Develop and facilitate virtual programming content to reach a wider audience and provide support to those who cannot attend in-person events.
- Assess the needs of Alumni and connect them with WWP programs and services that will aid in their long-term recovery and empowerment.
- Identify community events and activities that provide opportunities for warrior participation and connection.
- Regularly communicate and network with wounded warriors, serving as a resource and mentor.
- Establish effective working relationships with WWP teammates and collaborate to achieve shared goals.
- Utilize expense controls and seek cost-saving opportunities to manage budget effectively.
- Support WWP by representing the organization at events and serving as a point-of-contact for Alumni and their family members.
- Two years of experience developing and building relationships with veterans, veteran organizations, or community members.
- One year of experience with computer software, such as Microsoft Word and Outlook.
- Three years of experience working with military or veteran populations.
- Two years of experience planning events or community activities.

For San Diego, California applicants, the estimated hiring range for this position is between $57,702 - $72,128 annual base salary, subject to a candidate's combination of experience, qualifications, and credentials.
