Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will play a critical role in providing support to our employee relations program, ensuring a positive and inclusive work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Director and Associate Director of Human Resources to develop and implement effective employee relations strategies, including training programs, workshops, and individual meetings.
  • Analyze problem situations and work with employees and managers to find alternative methods of dispute resolution, providing or coordinating mediations as needed.
  • Support the internal investigation process, assisting with documentation and processes to ensure timely, consistent, and appropriate intervention.
  • Track employee relations issues to review ongoing trends and identify opportunities for training, monitoring and tracking grievance activity to assure compliance with DHRM required data collection and reporting needs.
  • Conduct employee exit surveys, track possible trends and attrition issues, and report findings to the Director and Associate Director on an ongoing basis.
  • Review recruitment and selection practices to promote fairness, equity, and inclusivity in faculty and staff searches, ensuring compliance with equal opportunity and affirmative action policies.
  • Monitor and assess the university's hiring practices to identify and address potential biases or disparities, conducting reviews of recruitment and hiring processes to ensure adherence to legal and institutional requirements.
Requirements
  • Master's degree or a bachelor's degree with significant experience that equates to an advanced degree.
  • Demonstrated experience in human resources, employee relations, or equal employment opportunity (EEO).
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Experience analyzing data and submitting reports.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
  • Experience working at a college or university.
  • Experience with grievances procedures, mediation, and developing positive relations between employees and management.
  • Experience working with the Department of Human Resources Management (DHRM).
  • Title IX experience.
