Position Summary:
The VisaNet Platform & Reliability Engineering team is tasked with the development, engineering, and support of the most extensive and dependable global payments processing system. We seek a dynamic and technically skilled individual who thrives on challenges and excels in problem-solving to enhance and maintain the VisaNet Integrated Payment System (VIP) within our Platform Engineering division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance and maintain the z/TPF Operating System.
  • Provide ongoing support and ownership for z/TPF problem resolution.
  • Develop systems software and perform maintenance to align with Visa's operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with Systems Engineers to create efficient z/TPF enhancements.
  • Manage all incident, change, problem, and emergency documentation for the z/TPF environment.
  • Coordinate with Applications and Support Groups to ensure seamless delivery of requirements.
  • Integrate emerging technologies into existing systems and document installation and configuration procedures.
  • Lead technical projects, including Proof of Concept evaluations.
  • Mentor junior staff and support their technical growth.

This role offers a hybrid work model, allowing employees to alternate between remote and office work, with a general expectation of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
• 8+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 5 years with an Advanced Degree, or 2 years with a PhD, or 11+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• 9+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's Degree, or 7+ years with an Advanced Degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.

Other Qualifications:
• 10+ years of experience in z/TPF Systems programming.
• Expert in IBM High Level Assembler and proficient in C++ and system build components on the z/TPF platform.
• Strong analytical skills, including dump analysis.
• Familiarity with z/TPF software and maintenance processes.
• Knowledge of VPARS, z/TPF Toolkit, and testing z/TPF software in a VM environment.
• Basic knowledge of Linux to support z/TPF SIP processes.
• Extensive experience in the software engineering discipline from requirements gathering to implementation.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments effectively.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and a lifelong learner with high work standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional Information:
Work Hours: Varies based on departmental needs.
Travel Requirements: This position may require travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This role will be performed in an office setting, requiring the ability to sit and stand at a desk, communicate effectively, and operate standard office equipment.
